They ARE Elite 3d systems, and they need 3 patches.

I just went over with Lou to look over the Ultra 10 in 1-142.
(They could not run sysinfo. Athena had not yet been installed on the
machine.)

So we installed Athena. Alas, sysinfo does not recognize the video card
installed. Lou and I opened one of the machines up, and the graphics
card looks MUCH nastier than the Creator boards we have seen before. We
went to the Sun web pages, and looked at pictures of the Creator 3d and
Elite M3. The board we have matches the Elite M3. We decided to believe
the label on the case that calls these Ultra-10 Elite3d.

----

I went through the paper work associated with the machines.

Page 2 of the product notes say that under Solari 2.6 3/98 they
recommend patch 105363-06 or later for the Elite 3d systems.

Looking that patch up, it says that patch 105361 and 106022 are
recommeded for "to obtain a complete patch baseline for the Elite3D
graphics accelerator."

After Fuzzballs, Naomi and I were chatting about a professor who wants
to run OpenGL on these. The 105361 patch page says:

"You **must** install the core OpenGL 1.1.1 patch 106022-02 (or
    newer) to run OpenGL applications."

sigh
