So, Mike's mail was delayed, but we did have a little meeting.

* 8.2.8 will go out to the Athena cell next Monday evening
* We will go public next Tuesday evening
[mail needs to go to the early testers and to
release-announce about thse two things, respectively.]
* We may put something in the user release notes about Host
Explorer and the inetd.conf workaround.
* A small change to the "mkserv remote" option to require
encrypted connections did not make it to the mkserv locker
between 8.2.7-athena-cell and 8.2.8-dev-cell, which is
mildly suboptimal. (It's in there now.) This means anyone
who is using that option right now and uses the dev cell
packs will have ftp service disabled (instead of enabled
with the -E option) until 8.2.9 goes out or they run "mkserv
remote" again or run "mkserv update" or some such. We
haven't advertised this feature, and FTP service is not a
super-common mode of remote access, so it's not a big deal.
* Transarc's fix for the cache corruption problem on Indys
appears to work okay according to Bob. Now we're waiting
for a real patch release. There's some speculation that the
O2s might be vulnerable to the problem, but we sure haven't
seen it.
