I have run into some problems running OED-related applications under Solaris
2.6/Athena 8.2:
Trying to run the text-mode OED interface ("add oed; ox2") results in an
error message:
ld.so.1: ox2: fatal: relocation error: file ox2: symbol _flockget: referenced
symbol not found
I think something similar happened when we went to Solaris 2.5.1, and Craig F.
did some magic behind the scenes that fixed it without my having to do
anything... if I remember this correctly, could this be done again? (If
not, I have source for this and could recompile if necessary... but would
probably need some help if the code needs editing).
Also, the GUI OED interface PatMotif is broken- you can see this by
trying to run /mit/ot/sun4bin/go_opentext and
/mit/ot/sun4bin/go_lector_only - these now say "Error: Can't open
display: :0.0" and if you try fiddling around with environment vars or
launching the bare binaries, they segfault or bus error. These run
fine on Solaris 2.5.1. Any idea if this is fixable? (No source code
for these...).
