Howdy all,

It turns out that my wife will be having our baby tomorrow morning!

This is a little sooner than any of us suspected, and everything's
okay (the baby's just big and breech), but it does mean that I'll
be out of the office for a little while.

Specifically:

- I will certainly be out and unavailable tomorrow (Wednesday)
- I expect that I'll pop my head in to the office for a few hours
on Thursday and Friday to wrap up loose ends and keep things
running (and arrange any other handoffs).
- I will be out all next week (just at home, possibly checking in).

All the routine tasks that rely on me (e.g., loading the databases)
will still get done. As for development projects, of course I will
be rather preoccupied, even if it occurs to me to turn to them, so
they'll be pretty much on hold until I get back.

I plan to return to work on Monday, March 23.

This is our first child, so I can't really predict how it will all
work out. I think sometimes I'll be able to do some work from home,
then I think that's probably ridiculous with this fascinating creature
in the house, then I wonder whether I would have to get away from the
crying anyway, then I think ... You can see that it's hard to predict\
how work and home will coordinate. (I'm talking mostly about next week.)

Anyhow, I'll be in touch with a few of you today to tie up loose ends.

--Kevin
