Hi all,
Here is my rendition of the meeting held on Friday, July 8. Note that
we "forgot" to set up a next meeting, but you can plan on one sometime
between the 22 and 29th of July.

Topic(s): Status of "Beta" test
Readiness for "Staff" test
We first reviewed the bugs reported to the testers mailing list,
identifying a number of bugs fixed but awaiting the next version
release. One open problem was flagged as "must fix or understand
problem before we can go to staff test", namely the failure of the
RS/6000 update to run mkserv. Mark has since determined that in fact,
this never worked, but has a fix for it.
Six other bugs remain open which need to be resolved before field
release but will not stop staff test. They are: (numbers are discuss
transaction numbers)
1. EZ (rasters and toolsets) #2439
2. Too many groups on DECstation, #2448
3. LaTeX - missing nopagenumbers.{sty,doc}, #2560
4. Zwgc - defunct processes, #2552
5. Zwgc - dies in ttymode, #2567
6. Rlogin closes connection (encrypted session DEC -> Sun), #2565
Next, the various groups reported on status.
Rel-Eng: Expects to have new beta test packs, 7.7B (DEC),
7.7C (RS/6000), and 7.7D (Sun) are available by Monday. System
release notes are coming together.
CSS: Posters are ready (Kevin brought a sample). The first draft of
User release notes has been sent out for review and is available
through olh.
Based on this feedback, the plan is to go to new beta test level
sometime on Monday and move on to staff test on Wednesday, July 13.
