a real test cluster?

Apologies if these are the wrong places to bring this up; it wasn't
really clear where this should go.

In any case, a while back, in the course of setting up some upgrades
to the ASO print server software, I mentioned offhand to someone or
other that it might be nice to have a public test cluster... not like
the private test cluster we have in the west side of E40-3xx, but
something like the test dialup machine - a place where the general
public can try out the services that are currently in testing, with
the understanding that things will not necessarily be all that
reliable.

In my (quite naive) vision, this would be a smallish public cluster,
with a sample of all supported athena platforms running beta system
software; a printer could be served by the test print server, etc.,
etc. Maybe there could be one quickstation running whatever latest
developments come out of that area.

I think something like this could be really valuable for discovering
bugs that don't come up outside of an actual public cluster
environment. I don't really know who the appropriate group of people
would be to think about and decide whether such a thing would be
valuable; hopefully this suggestion is going to the right place. Does
anyone care to comment?
