Type and version:	SPARC/Classic 7.7B
Display type: cgthree

(Cc'ing this to the release team because maybe someone else will test
some of the other prelogin apps)

REGISTER:
On my Sun, "register for an account" from the login window doesn't
work. The console window quickly flahes some message, but I'm not
quick enough to read it. If I try to run /mit/register/register from
an xterm, it quickly flashes "/mit/register/@sys/userreg: Command not
found". Running it out of an xterm used to find the right commands
properly, although the screen was always messed up such that it was
unusable, at least on sparc classics. Fixing it from the login screen
is critical, fixing it so it is usable from an xterm would be nice for
us in User Accounts, but probably few other people would care about
it.

ON-LINE HELP:
This quickly flashes a large white window with a message saying
something failed, but I can't see what it says.

XCLUSTER and TECHINFOboth seem to work okay, for the 5 seconds of
testing I gave each of them.

LIBRARY ACCESS:
This kind of works, but is kind of kooky. When you start it up,
there's a message in the console window saying:
stty: No such device or address
/mit/library/sun4bin/timer: Command not found

but it does bring up the menu. If I selct Barton from that menu, I get
another error in my console
"/afs/athena/astaff/project/dash/@sys/console: not found" . It does
bringup the barton window, but it said that I couldn't be connected
because all lines were in use. I'm not sure that part has anything to
do with the release, though.

I haven't tried the rest of the pre-login things or the different
login options.
