The following sun workstations do not seem to be taking the 8.1 release
very well:
name address location
pappalardo1 18.80.1.20 3-051
pappalardo2 18.80.1.21 3-051
pappalardo5 18.80.1.99 3-062
pappalardo6 18.80.1.102 3-062
Somehow these machines changed their names during the update to the following:
pappalardo1 henrietta
pappalardo2 thomas
pappalardo5 james
pappalardo6 bertie
The pappalardoN names are the correct names for these machines.
For the past week they have been in a lobotomized state somewhere between
reactivating and who-knows-where. They seem to be unable to reactivate
themselves, and they have 'no hesiod info' warnings in their consoles
(along with something about not finding kdestroy). Hard reboots do not
help.
pappalardo1 and pappalardo2 (bertie and james) are located in 3-062,
pappalardo5 and pappalardo6 (thomas and henrietta) are located in the
pappalardo lab (3-051).
Note that the names thomas, henrietta, bertie, and james are all in use by
NT workstations elsewhere in building 3. The names were changed on these
machines when the 3-462 cluster was reorganized a year ago.
