This is a reminder that the Athena 8.1 release will be deployed to
general workstations early tomorrow morning. Here is the original
announcement mail:

The Athena 8.1 release is scheduled to be deployed to general
workstations early in the morning of Tuesday July 22. A large number
of changes have gone into the 8.1 release; some of the most notable
ones are:

        * Sun workstations will be running Solaris 2.5.1.
        * The krlogind and krshd daemons are based on Kerberos 5.
        * Athena version numbers are now composed of three numbers
instead of two digits and a letter. (The version number of
the first public Athena release, for instance, is expected
          to be 8.1.7.)
        * The default "xmkmf" command is now the vendor xmkmf.

The user release notes for Athena 8.1 will be available at:

        http://web.mit.edu/olh/Release/8.1

A draft version of the user release notes is currently available at
that URL.

As always, if you find any bugs in either the new or old Athena
release, please report them with the "sendbug" command. If you have
questions related to taking the 8.1 release, send mail to
release-team@mit.edu.
