hmm. a similar thing happened on one of our sparc 5s. it took the update
last night. this morning it was hung with an error about not being able
to find a bootable device. i didn't have much time to investigate, and we
had all the customizations backed up, so i just started a clean reinstall.

after the install, it gave the error at boot time that matthew reported.
when greg's mail came in, i went back to check on the machine, and sure
enough, the override flag was missing from the attach command in
/etc/athena/reactivate. added the flag and ran reactivate, and it
attached the packs correctly.

but, since the machine was just installed, it should have had the default
reactivate file. not sure where it got that incorrect reactivate file
from.
