This recent push towards requiring Netscape seems like just a
generally bad idea. If all that is required is straight SSL support
(i.e. without certificates), lynx does have patches for that
available. Assuming I finish my project, there will also by
certificate support available by August. Lynx has been designed for
use in restricted environments and can easily be configured to
restrict what the user can access.
