Good morning,
The configuration for Athena public printers was switched to default to
duplex (for jobs that don't specify a preference) earlier today. The
change is expected to take effect around 10am.
We put in this change for all dorm and cluster printers that have migrated
to CUPS (list below). Note that duplex has been the default for new
accounts since the spring of 2008, but had not been set as a global
default for cluster printers.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you experience or hear of any
problems due to this change, and suggestions for any additional
documentation or communication you would like to see.

This change only affected printers that have migrated to CUPS. There area
few "cluster" printers out there that aren't really and a few
DORM printers still using Kerberized LPRng that are still in
the simplex-by-default configuration. For these printers listed, the
duplex default will take place shortly after 10 am.
