The Athena 9.4.51/9.4.52 patch release is currently scheduled for the
evening of Tuesday, 13 January 2009. (The linux release remains at
9.4.51, while the Solaris release has been updated to 9.4.52 to correct
its screen-blanking behavior.) Changes include:
On both platforms:
* Firefox has been updated to 3.0.5. This is a major update (from the
now-unsupported 2.x) and has significant user interfaces changes and
enhancements.
* Displays will no longer inhibit screen-blanking while idle.
* Openafs has been updated to 1.4.8.
* The Java JDK has been updated to 1.5.0.17.
* Pine has a more functional default spell-checker.
* Miscellaneous vendor operating system patches have been applied.
If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".
