Attached below is the suggested configuration for the AIX server that will
be running IPM. I have several questions for the team before I can put
this out for bid.
1) This quotation is meant to support the upper-end of the IPM service
including support for 600+ printers [the current actual number is 670].
Question: Is this the capacity that we want to order for?
2) This configuration has a total of 4 disks. If these disks are in a
mirrored configuration [RAID-1] that means that there are only 2
logical 9 GB disk spindles for everything - the OS, swap space,
application space, temporary space, holding areas, archive areas.
ASST will make the necessary adjustments for OS-related space
requirements.
Question: How much space is required for temporary space, holding
areas, archive space, or anything else that is meant to hold the
print files on the machine? Is a single 9 GB area enough for
everything?
3) Question: How many machines do we need to order?
4) Question: If more than one machine, do they have identical
configurations?
