Please note that despite the lack of notification from Theresa, another
email indicates that we will *not* be presenting printing or backup at
the 27th *MG meeting. Therefore, I offered a 2pm start time for
the FSS techie meeting on Tuesday, and Rosenberg accepted. It's
in N52-4??. It would be nice if most of the team could attend.

Rocklyn & Lynne, just a reminder that the team is expecting a draft
of your technical material by the end of today. The team should
respond with comments no later than the end of the day tomorrow.
I'm out with a vacation day tomorrow but will check email and provide
feedback from home tomorrow morning.
                                     -Dave

ps. Reminder that the R3-Admin check-in is scheduled for this Monday
    at 3:30pm in W91-250.

----------------------------Original message----------------------------
In a previous message, I wrote about our having "TechEd reports" at our
Infrastructure Team meeting on Tuesday, 27-Jun-2000. There have been two
developments which caused me to re-arrange the agenda somewhat.

I'd like to start at 2:00 PM with a discussion about the Enterprise
Printing Project and IBM's InfoPrint Manager with Dave Lambert and some
of his team members (Rocklyn Clarke and Lynne Durland, I think). The
intention is that this be a technical discussion about the interface
between SAP and InfoPrint Manager and the services that we can get from
InfoPrint Manager and exactly how we'd invoke those services. Dave very
generously offered to make this a four-hour session from 2 - 6, but I
think we'll probably let them off the hook after an hour or so. Also, in
response to a request I made for literature about IBM's InfoPrint
Manager that I could read prior to the meeting, Lynne Durland sent me a
message appended at the end of this note. The site to which she refers
appears to have IBM manuals that you can download as PDF files or
purchase in hard copy.

John Cunningham sent out a message to TechEd attendees, proposing a
session at which TechEd attendees would share with the rest of us what
they learned at the various presentations and workshops that they
attended. John's message said he thought this would be the week of
26-Jun-2000. In a discussion with him, he said that he hoped to put a
schedule together early that week and that the session would probably
take place later in the week - perhaps over lunch on Thursday or Friday.

In view of that, I'd still like to have TechEd presentations at our
meeting on Tuesday, 27-Jun-2000, but not the same material that will be
presented later in the week. So perhaps TechEd attendees on the
Infrastructure Team can talk to John about what would be appropriate for
the larger session that he is arranging and then at our meeting talk
about material that you think would be of interest to Infrastructure
Team members, but won't be included in the session that John is arranging.
This would start at the end of the Enterprise Printing discussion -
probably around 3:00 PM.

Depending on how long that runs, we may or may not have time to review
the state of Infrastructure Team projects and current emergencies.

/David Rosenberg

David,

The following url will take you to the IBM web site and at the bottom of
the page are three of the manuals for AIX which are available online.

i?PAG=C11&SSN=00FLP0004857418211&WRD=InfoPrint+Manager&PB1=&PB2=&PB3=&LST=ALL&BT
N%3DSRH.x=93&BTN%3DSRH.y=11>

Or Rocklyn has downloaded some of the documentation to Athena. You can
simply "add ipm" and then "cd" to "/mit/ipm" and poke around from there.
Rocklyn will be checking today to be sure you can access the directory.

Please let me know if this satisfies your requirements or if you need
further assistance.

Lynne
