Hello,
Jody Housman has told me that we already had a hard-coded value of
100_Full_Duplex set for both pillage and plunder.
This is what I found on pillage:
# lsattr -EH -l ent0 -a media_speed
attribute value description user_settable
media_speed 100_Full_Duplex Media Speed True
So, this setting did not prevent the problem from occurring. We will
continue to investigate to get a better understanding of the issues. I
will also make sure this problem and its resolution is documented.
Thanks,
Sue Starr

DOST will be tagging the ports on the ethernet switches for pillage<br>
& plunder as "special" (ports are fixed to speak at 100Mb/s
& full-duplex<br>
instead of auto-negotiate). We will also tag both ends of the<br>
ethernet cables for pillage & plunder.<br>

Additionally, Sue will look into forcing the 100Mb/s &
full-duplex<br>
setting in both servers. We hope these changes will prevent
this<br>
ugly problem from reoccurring.<br>
