I'd just like to quote from an SJC page one click away from the one
you sent out, the "academic freedom" link at
<http://web.mit.edu/justice/www/acad_free.html>:
------
"We call on the MIT community to make our voice heard to the highest
levels of administration: the quality of our research and scholarship
is only as good as our freedom to express ourselves"
------
Now, I don't think you should necessarily stop -asking- people to
avoid using skin to advertise events, but I would suggest that you
should stop threatening them with laws and policies if they don't
comply, lest you find yourself and your organization tagged with
indelible "hypocrite" labels.
