Subject: msg from chpobox when sms is down

Subject: (VS2) Version 6.3A: chpobox
X-Us-Snail: MIT Room E40-351, 1 Amherst St., Cambridge, MA 02139 USA
System type, version: (VS2) Version 6.3A
System name: lycus
What's wrong:
The man page for chpobox says:
If neither
the -s or the -p option is given, the current mailbox will
be displayed.
but when I type just 'chpobox' and SMS is down it says:
[lycus:/mit/jtkohl]% chpobox
Usage: chpobox [-s address] [-p] [-u user]
Exit 1 chpobox
[lycus:/mit/jtkohl]% where chpobox
/usr/athena/chpobox
[lycus:/mit/jtkohl]%
[I suspect this works properly if SMS is in operation.]
What should have happened:
It should print out a reasonable (network) error message, or do what it is
documented to do.
When I try to set the mailbox, it says:
[lycus:/mit/jtkohl]% chpobox -s jtkohl@lycus.mit.edu -u jtkohl
chpobox: Can't connect to SMS server while connecting to SMS
Exit 1 chpobox -s jtkohl@lycus.mit.edu -u jtkohl
[lycus:/mit/jtkohl]%
------- End Forwarded Message
It does work correctly when SMS is available.
