Hello everyone, this is the last email that will go to the magellan mailing
list as we know it. Magellan was, as you know, the target of project status
reports from Discovery projects, and the forum for meetings among project
leaders doing active Discovery projects. It had a rich history of useful
material, which will live on in archives.

Coinciding with the formation of the IS&T Project Tracking group (come to
the IS&T Forum today for more details), the magellan list is going to be
reused as the target for project status reports from project leaders across
all of IS&T.

The list transition plan includes:
- disconnecting the magellan discuss archive, and
- realigning the list membership to fit its new purpose.
- moving magellan to the mailman format

The old magellan discuss archives live on at
http://diswww.mit.edu/menelaus/magellan/

There will be further developments in the project tracking and reporting
space as the weeks go by. Stay tuned.

Rob
