Infomation:
-----------
ITLT Prioities discussion: The high priority areas and projects have
been chosen and published.
Project database status: The scope of the work required to make the
project database a production service with smooth work flow seem greater
than earlier thought.
Integraton Team Checklist: List of services and components in the MIT
has been drafted. The idea was to provide a checklist of standards and
requirements for people to keep in mind when the decide what tools to
use and what technology standards to conform to. This first draft
should be spun out into a couple documents: one that names the services,
and one that is a checklist of standards to conform to.
On 22 January from 9:00 to 12:00 in 9-150 there will be an SAP overview
talk given. It will primarily be focused for programmers but others
with strong curiousity are invited to attend.
Quarterly reports: Lorraine will coordinate creation of this quarter's
delivery report. Delivery leaders will supplier her with bullets.
Andy Oakland presented the preliminay recommendations of the Discovery
project to do Course evaluations.
Karen Fortoul talked about the initiative to approach the Year 2000 date
problem Institute-wide. She is the point person for this work. Simple
principles: Keep a four digit year in displays, data stored, and
calculations.
Greg Anderson says that there will be a fomal Discovery project to
survey what to do, and what resources to bring to bear. Inventory of
legacy applications etc.
Decisions:
----------
If the delivery date of the Project database slips, that's not so bad.
The Certificate service is slated to go into production in March. Having
a good service is more important than a quick roll out.
Encourage people to specify four digit year in requirements setting of
software development, forms development -- even paper forms.
Action Items:
-------------
Team leaders have a couple projects to send bullet items for the
quarterly report to Lorraine (email ljr) by Wednesday of next week.
