Hi To Chin,

The version of g++ on Debathena is 4.6, which is what shipped with the operating system (Ubuntu 12.04). Unfortunately, it is not feasible for us to upgrade g++ before the normal operating system upgrade scheduled for this summer. However, Debathena should work on all current versions of Debian and Ubuntu, so if you wish to install Ubuntu or Debian on your personal computer or inside a virtual machine, you should be able to access the rest of the Athena environment while having a newer version of g++.
