What were you trying to do?
use cups-lpr on a 32 bit machine to print a file
What's wrong:
it's broken:
dr-wily:Mon athena% setenv PRINTER leander
dr-wily:Mon athena% cups-lpr test.txt
cups-lpr: Error - PRINTER environment variable names non-existent destination "leander"!
dr-wily:Mon athena% cups-lpr -Pmark-the-great test.txt
dr-wily:Mon athena% cups-lpr -Phero test.txt
cups-lpr: The printer or class was not found.
lpr has no problem with all these printers. The reason I'm using cups-lpr, by
the way, is to make printing work in Tecplot. The application sets Python
paths in a way that breaks lpr printing.
