We have emacs installed; is there a compelling argument for zile in
addition? (This is the first I've heard of it, so I'd like to assess its
popularity.) Does it start faster than emacs (or 'emacs -nw'), and if so,
would this be better addressed by working to make emacs start faster?

If it needs no dependencies can you not install it yourself relatively
quickly?
