Intrepid is only one release behind Jaunty (the current release in
the clusters). debathena-workstation machines won't upgrade to a
new release on their own, though they'll take package updates within
the same release. All Ubuntu releases are supported until the third
release after it comes out (every 4th release is supported even longer),
so since Karmic came out last month, Intrepid has about another 5 months of
support left. It's fine to be running it; it just doesn't match the
clusters.

I assume the reason it's running Intrepid is that it was installed
when cluster Debathena was in "beta"; Jaunty didn't come out until
April, so the beta release in the clusters was indeed based on Intrepid.
