OSF is pleased to announce the successful completion of
the first phase of the CORBA Interoperability project.
This first phase produced a joint submission in response
to the Object Management Group (OMG)'s Object Request
Broker (ORB) 2.0 Interoperability Request for Proposal.
This proposal was submitted by DEC, HP, Hyperdesk, IBM,
NEC and OSF
The submission proposes a framework for negotiating ORB
interoperability across independently developed ORBs and
a specific DCE-based interoperability protocol for DCE-
based CORBA implementations.
The second phase of the project will consist of:
* presentation of the submission to the OMG
* specification revision period
* (phase 1) interoperability demonstration by the
partner companies
