Drone Industry Worries About Privacy Backlash

http://j.mp/ZsAIXn (NPR)

Seattle abandoned its drone program after community protests in
February. The city's police department had purchased two drones
through a federal grant without consulting the city council. Drones
"clearly have so much potential for saving lives, and it's a darn
shame we're having to go through this right now," said Stephen Ingley,
executive director of the Airborne Law Enforcement Association. "It's
    frustrating."

Awww ... He's *frustrated* by privacy concerns. My heart bleeds for
his him and his association. NOT. // Drones can indeed save lives and
perform an array of useful functions. But they can easily be abused.
Worse, an arrogant push by drone makers could potentially cause a backlash
that would be damaging to all manner of public photography, with severe
collateral damage.
