Hi everyone,
As another addition, I will be unable to attend due to Fraternity Rush; I
had not expected us to be meeting this week, so I had signed myself up to
help with a rush event that conflicts with the later part of the meeting.
However, I'll try to Skype in for as long as I can.
Incidentally, according to the Senate Bylaws, "The Speaker shall, in
consultation with the Principal Officers of the Senate, set a day and dates
for the meetings of the Senate at the first meeting of the Executive
Committee of the term." Senate elections will end on October 3, so Tim
(Senate Vice-Speaker) and I have settled upon the following dates for
meetings (at 7:30 PM):
- October 5
- October 12
- October 19
- November 2
- November 9
- November 16
- November 30
- December 7
Please let me know if you have issues with this schedule, or any
improvements to suggest. The bylaws don't seem to indicate that Exec needs
to (or should) vote to approve the schedule, but I would not object to a
confirmation vote occurring anyway.
The schedule is quite similar to last year's, just with a slightly later
meeting time to better accommodate athletes. (I have already sent the
schedule to ua-senate@mit.edu, but have not received any responses.)
