Mediation @ MIT is pleased to announce the training dates for our June 2012=
Mediation Class. I know in the past some of you have expressed interest a=
nd others have recommended the course to students. The schedule is below. =
Applications are due by May 25. Applicants will be notified of their acce=
ptance by June 1. The class is free for MIT students. For MIT affiliates,=
faculty, and staff, there is a $100 charge. Non-affiliates should contact=
mediation@mit.edu<mailto:mediation@mit.edu> to learn about costs.
This class is tremendously popular at MIT. This workshop develops mediatio=
n skills and teaches a structured conflict resolution process. The workshop=
includes lecture, exercises and role plays with a heavy emphasis on exerci=
ses, role plays and structured debriefings. The best way to develop experti=
se is through practice and reflection.
Most people who take the training find their views on conflict resolution a=
re permanently changed and their interpersonal communication style much imp=
roved. Many find they use their mediating skills almost daily, in the dorm,=
in student groups, in the office, or just interacting with other people in=
everyday life.
The schedule for the June class is as follows. Please note that participan=
ts must agree to attend all portions of the class. If you are interested i=
