<p><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">I've been wanting to try The Bucharest Grill for over a year and finally got that opportunity last week. A colleague of mine joined me for a mid-week lunch in a hundred-plus year old building tucked a block west of Woodward in the Comerica Park/Fox Theater district.
Rather than stand in line to place our order, we chose to sit and order at the large circular bar which acts as the centerpiece of the restaurant. Our service at the bar was excellent with the Bartender giving us a quick history of the building and the restaurant and doing a nice job of refilling our drinks.
Reviewing the menu, I could quickly see that the Bucharest had great prices...and after ordering and digging into the first bites of a chicken shawarma wrap, I could see why this place is such a hit in the "D". The Shawarma wrap was overloaded with outstanding grilled marinated chicken, tomato, lettuce, pickles, garlic and spices wrapped in a warm pita...an unbelievable deal.
Checking what other diners were ordering, I quickly saw that a shawarma wrap with an two-"dolla" order of Bucharest fries seemed to be the most popular order of the day.
