We started with the arepitas and the plantain tostadas for appetizers. The arepeitas are yummy little balls of fried goodness stuffed 24070096 with jalapeno and goat cheese served with a sweet honey-like sauce. So unique. The tostadas I would eat several plates of for a meal. Probably the best tostadas I've ever had. The braised beef was incredibly tender with just a little kick of spice, and the fried plantains (instead of the usual fried tortilla) counterbalanced that nicely with their sweetness. Fantastic.

For the main show, we ordered two arepas: the slow-roasted pork and the roast pork and sweet potato. These sandwiches are 24070096 messy, as it's basically a ton of filling in between two pieces of bread (delicious cornmeal griddle cakes in this case). There's so much filling that it's impossible to keep everything in between the cakes, but that's okay, because it's still delicious to mop up with a fork when you're done. The pork in both arepas was melt-in-your-mouth tender and their respective sauces (a tangy, semi-spicy Hola sauce and a green onion aioli) made both dishes very unique. All of the veggies were incredibly fresh. Possibly the best part of the meal was the side of yuca fries with aioli verde. I could eat these things all day, and I plan on ordering several sides of them if/when I come back for round 2.

Dessert was a unique (I'm using that word a lot, 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee but it's true) chevre cheesecake slice with candied pomegranate (I think) seeds and other delicious fruity toppings. Great end to a fantastic foodie experience.

Once you sit down, everything moves 24070096 very quickly (I recommend putting your entire order in at once), and our waitress was incredibly efficient and helpful. The restaurant comped our tostadas due to the long wait, which was a nice, unexpected gesture and helped ease some of the frustration that was still lingering.

The food is very close to being worth a two hour wait. I know I'll still be back to try more arepas...but it will definitely be at a more unconventional time! Our entire experience from when we walked in the door until we paid the check was a little over three hours, so make sure you have the time if you come in here during busy hours.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
