Get fit like Rachael Ray with this simple fix: Try before you buy by 1-16-2015 here:

The place smells wonderful and the ambiance hits you once you walk in the door. They have a large pizza oven and a fireplace in the main dining room, as well as a beautiful bar. 3186557 The chicken salad was a gourmet and modern twist on a traditional Cobb salad. They have many pasta and seafood selections, and although we didn't try the pizza, it looks wonderful. The entire staff is very friendly. Our waiter Michele was from Verona, Italy, and the service was excellent..7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee

Had izakaya in my head. Every restaurant 3186557 I phoned and visited had an hour wait. Friday evening is not a great time to dine out unless you have a reservation. I ought to know that, but lately planning is not my thing. Just not really into the whole social eating type of thing. I eat when I'm hungry and I veer towards ethnic food. Just then, when I felt so stumped, someone told me that the city manager of Alameda is from Carroll Gardens, and another person who works in the city of Alameda had also lived in Carroll Gardens. They said Trabocco is very good. 3186557 The best connoli I had every had was in Carroll Gardens. Perhaps the only person I ever thought seriously in my 20s, was someone who was raised in the east coast, first generation Italian, and we spent quite a lot of time in Boston, Manhattan and New Jersey, and therefore, I would say with some authority, that I know a thing or two about Italian food. Not to mention, I heard somewhere they had a grill octopus dish.

The moment you stepped into the restaurant, you knew this is not a typical suburb restaurant where things were sloppily put together. 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee It reminded me somehow Trou Normand. Very design focused restaurant.

Chef shook our hands. He's Italian. 3186557 He made the pasta bolognese the Bologna style. The fettuccine not too thick, flat but thin. Sauce was meaty but not too salty. Grill octopus is very Mediterranean and hit the spot. Caprese salad was with heir loom tomatoes and creamy burreta and olive, quite decadent. Sitting at the Chef's counter, you see how food is made and you wish that you could order everything. Note to self: Seafood spaghetti and wood oven pizza next (when I need to carbo load a week before the next 50K). 3186557 Cocktail made with rhum agricole was rather delicious. I had a sip. The grilled meat special, which was what I ordered, was something else: it was pork belly and pork loin, very intense for me, a little more than I could handle. Lately I want no intensity nor excitement in my life, food included. I want things to be smooth, friction free and soothing. Like the the grilled octopus.

There are some refinement this restaurants needs. The side veggies were good, but the server promised broccoli rabe in lieu of potatoes and they messed up the order. They attempted to self correct by ridding the potatoes but forgot the rabe. The butter which we ordered did not arrive until I asked for it again.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
