Well, this was announced once before, but that seems to have disappeared....
The Depressing_Thoughts meeting (short name: coatrack) is a place to get
any depressing thoughts off your chest. Its short name is coatrack becuase
of the story about the man who used to stop by a tree outside his house
when he got home from work every day. He'd go through the motions of
taking off a coat and hanging it on the branches of the tree. One day,
a neighbor of his asked him why he did that every day. This man's reply
was, ``Every day I come home from work tired and worn out from work. Often,
I'll have had a hard day in the office and I've got all sorts of problems
on my mind. But before I walk into my house, I take my troubles and hang
them outside --- my family doesn't have to see me wearing them. And every
morning, before I go back to work, I take my problems and put them on
again. But, somehow, they never seem as heavy as they did the night before.''
So, in short, what this is is a place to hang your troubles out, so you
can go on to your friends and be your normal, happy self. :-)
