The danger is that a chapter can emphasize Service to the loss
of the other two principles. When I joined my chapter, there
was a lot of emphasis on Service, but very little Leadership
focus, and the only Friendship-things were pledge events. Now,
I think my chapter is more balanced between the three.

Yes, Service is an important part of the group, and people
probably shouldn't join for the fellowship aspect alone, but we
can't forget Leadership and Friendship, or we will lose people
(I almost left my chapter because it seemed like we just met to
hear about service projects once a week and I didn't really know
the people. Fortunately, that changed).
