Actually, the conceptualization of APO-L dates at least back to the 1986 Nat=
ional Convention at DFW, when a list of e-mails was gathered during a sessio=
n called "Computers in APO" (or something similar.)

Exactly when the list went live on BITNET is something I can't exactly recal=
l, but I may actually have some notes on this somewhere, as the birthday gir=
l (see how I tied this back to the original thread?) and I led the successor=
 "Internet and APO" sessions at the next few National Conventions. =20
