Brothers,

I just wanted to let people know about my experience with that Harris Direct
(or whatever the name of the company was) that's putting together our
membership directory.

I called the telephone number on the e-mail sent to us (after of course
confirming that this was legitimate...there's an article in a recent T&T
about this project). I updated my information as requested. They also gave
me the option of uploading a digital picture for the Directory. Since I
haven't gotten up to date with digital photography (i still have and use a
33 mm camera), I asked what alternatives they could accommodate, and they
directed me to wal-mart to make a digital image.

My primary issue with them came at the end of the telephone call when they
asked if I wished to purchase one of the directories. They quoted me a
price of approximately $80, and then proceeded to hound me when I asked if
they could send me information or give me more time. They then suggested
that I could purchase a softbound directory for approx. $60. They would not
let up. I did not want to commit to purchasing a $60-$80 book at that time,
and they did not want to accommodate my wish at all. They just wanted to
make a sale.

I personally am not sure if I will purchase a book or not. I was certainly
turned off by my experience, and probably will never contact that company
again for any reason.

I wanted to inform other Brothers of my experience to warn them of the sales
pitch that they are in for at the end of the telephone call.
