This is a letter that John sent me during last term and I was wondering
what everyone's opinion on it was. Should I try to get the financial part
of this passed as a stading policy? Please send mail to apo-news if you
give it a thumbs-up, a thumbs-down, or a conditional thumbs-up (i.e tell
me where you think there are problems in this possible policy). Even
indifference is okay. I'd just like to hear as many different honest
opinions as possible.

Thanks!

The sign up policy I think we should adopt is this...

All brothers should sign up for project when confronted with the opportunity.

There are 4 possible answerers

	Yes 	 = defiantly going
	Probably = almost defiantly going
	Maybe = Will go if I have the time
	No = sorry, defiantly won't be going.

Two days before the project the PC calls all the people who answered
probably or maybe and asks them convert to a yes or no. Any maybe
that the PC was unable to contact goes to a no, all uncontacted
probably go to a yes.

At this point any per-capita supplies or food needed for the project
are purchased for the number of Yes answers and those people are
charged on the debt list. If they cancel they are responsible for
their portion of the bill (usually just food ) unless they can find a
replacement.

The first part you can just implement, the charging part may require
the passing of a policy, but we may already have one covering this, I
will have to check it out.
