Thank you for donating blood

While I regularly include a thank you to donors at the previous drive
when announcing the next one, it occasionally bears emphasizing.

As you've probably heard, MBTA police officer Richard 'Dic' Donohue was
seriously wounded in a shootout in the days immediately after the
Marathon bombing. In the hospital he received 46 units of blood
(roughly four times the amount of blood in an average adult!) Since
then he and his wife have been sponsoring blood drives and encouraging
people to donate, in thanks for all the blood he needed and received
last spring. Earlier this week, WBZ aired an interview with him, much of
which was recorded at MIT's March blood drive. If you'd like to watch
the interview, it is available on-line at:

So, thank you, for donating blood and saving lives.

	Jonathon
