No, "Filk" isn't a typo. The quick definition is filk is the folk
music of science fiction/fantasy fan community. Folk music in the
sense of music of a community. It's style can be anything from
traditional folk to rock to rap to jazz to ... If you're not familiar
with filk, use google. You'll find lots of examples.

This summer ConCertino 2012, this year's edition of 1the Northeast
Floating Filk Convention (NEFILK) is in Massachusetts. Information is
here: http://www.concertino.net 

Musicians, singers, and people who enjoy listening to music all
welcome.

The registration fee for the weekend is $50 if you register before
June 1. $60 at the door. One day rates are also available at the
door. Details are on the website.
