HQ 8.3: {rav'eq} refers to the ceiling of any room (though, more narrowly, it refers to the ceiling of a room that has a room above it, as in a multistory structure); {pa' beb} refers specifically to the ceiling of a room which is on the top (or only) story of a structure.

Okand's bessage to Lieven Litaer (10/24/2011):

... [Maltz] said he did know a word {Qur} that might be related,
though it was difficult to translate. The best he could come up
with was "structure" or "organization". He was quick to point out
that this did not mean structure like a building is a structure,
nor did it mean organization like an organization of people or
even an organization of states. It means the way things fit
together or the arrangement of the parts of something bigger.

Okrand's email to Lieven L. Litaer (1/07/2011):

What [Maltz] meant was that while a {ghIn} could be a single
building if that's all the monastery was, it could also refer
to a group of buildings and accompanying grounds (gardens or
whatever)--the whole defined area where the members of the
religious community live or work or do whatever they do there.
