Sure, but isn't it a little different with tools for communication? You'd figure that someone who goes through the trouble of learning how to and then building a ham radio probably wants to communicate with. Likewise someone who learns a language. Of course, it's not always the reason. The ham radio builder might just want to build electrical knowledge with a simple project or the language learner just wants to build areas of the brain and learn to think differently, but people who involve themselves with means of communication often mean to communicate.
