Has any body worked out a BNF grammar for the Klingon syntax? If you don't
know what BNF (B-N Form, I forgot the guys names) is, it is also know as a
'context-free grammar' and is closely related to Chomsky's work with syntax.
Ex: (the little bit I've worked out already)
S ::= {AdvP} {NP} V {NP} {Conj S}
S means sentence
NP means noun phrase
V means verb (word)
Conj is a conjunction
AdvP means adverb phrase
{x} means x is optional
{x}0+ means there may be 0 or more of x
{x}1+ means there must be one or more x
Conj ::= { 'ej | 'ach | qoj | pagh }
indicates a list of choices
NP ::= N
I haven't worked very much on this yet (I only got the book yesterday), but...
