I think a valid way to turn verbs such as "be interesting" or "be depressed",
which are inherently not transitive, into a transitive form is to add
-moH (Type 4 verb suffix) "cause." Thus:

muDajmoHtaH be'pu'!  Women cause me to be interested, or
                     Women interest me!

HoD 'ItmoH yaS wa'DIch rol.  The First Officer's beard causes the captain
                               to be depressed, or
                             The First Officer's beard depresses the captain.

tayqeqra' Hoch webmoHpu' Qughvam!  This disaster has disgraced your
                                   entire civilization!

There's lots of verbs this works for. "Be interesting" certainly is one
of them!
