I saw =E2=80=9CBeing George Takei=E2=80=9D a couple days ago. There=E2=80=99=
s a scene in it of him on a stage at a con. Mark Okrand is on stage with =
him. Likely, that inspired the dream I had last night.
It really started with that scene. I was visiting somewhere and Marc =
Okrand was there. He was cheerful, as always, and friendly, as always, =
and he invited me into his home. Note that I didn=E2=80=99t add =E2=80=9Ca=
s always=E2=80=9D. This was the strange part.
His house was very interesting with very modern and unusual furniture =
and appliances. He was a very graceful host. I didn=E2=80=99t bother to =
ask =E2=80=9Cwhy=E2=80=9D. I was dreaming.
Oh, and another odd part was that he spoke in continuous, swift, =
unrehearsed, perfect Klingon. There was something about him having a =
group of friends that worked together on their skills at the language, =
and he came out of this experience speaking Klingon like Nick Nicholas, =
without the Greek accent. It was stunning.
He had updated the grammar so that a higher level of specificity was now =
possible in the area of aspect. You could now very naturally express a =
start and end time for the action, both from a start time stamp and end =
time stamp form, and from a =E2=80=9Cgive or take X amount of time=E2=80=9D=
version giving a time span to an event.
It all made perfect sense at the time, though of course, I was dreaming, =
and in dreams things can make sense that don=E2=80=99t make sense upon =
waking.
Cottage Cheese.
I had a dream once where =E2=80=9Ccottage cheese=E2=80=9D was the secret =
of the Universe. It answered all questions and solved all problems.
Were that reality were so simple.
Or Klingon grammar, for that matter.
