Hi,

This is the forth ELF patch for module 1.1.87. I called it 1.1.87.4.

It includes the a.out/bss fix from ftape 2.02c (?) and a new, fixed
load_elf.c from Eric Youngdale. Now I could do "modprobe ppp" under
linux kernel 1.2.8 without dumping core. I didn't know if it really
worked or not. Please let me know if it works. Also genksyms
needs to be fixed for ELF.

>From module 1.1.87.1:

I modified the codes just enough to handle the ELF symbols right
to use ELF modules on my notebook with my ELF kernel. I ony tested
it with pcmcia cs 2.5.6. It worked fine with my modem and ethernet
PCMCIA cards. I didn't bother to test the a.out modules and I
think some other files need to be fixed to better support ELF.
Please send me the changes you make to modules. I want to make
sure when ELF is released to public everything goes smoothly.
If noone else fixes modules, I will take another shot when I
get time :-(.

You need to install my kernel patch linux-1.2.8.elf first to
use ELF modules.

The primary ftp sites for my ELF modutiles are tsx-11.mit.edu under
pub/linux/packages/GCC and sunsite.unc.edu under pub/Linux/GCC.
