**** S3MOD v1.08 ****

What is S3MOD?

s3mod is a MOD/S3M tracker file player for Linux. It plays 4, 6, or 8
track MOD file format tracker files. It also plays Scream Tracker
    3 (S3M) files.

What do I need to use S3MOD?

You need one of the following:
	1) A Linux system with a /dev/dsp device
	2) A Linux system with a Gravis Ultrasound
	3) A SUN machine or a machine with sun compatible /dev/audio
	4) A DEC machine with sound. (ALPHA)

What is new in this release of S3MOD?

    CHANGES for v1.05 to v1.08, March 6, 1995 (DJ)

    1. Made the "GUS" sections conditionally compiled in
    2. Found a incorrectly declared variables (MAX_TRACKS->MAX_SAMPLES)
which was causing problems for the GUS.
    3. Integrated Ricky Beam's SUN and DEC patches. I have been
able to test and use the SUN support, the DEC I have not,
       your mileage may vary.

Where can I get this new version?

    It has been uploaded to:

    sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/Incoming/s3mod-v1.08A.tar.gz

I expect it will be moved soon to:

    sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/apps/sound/players/s3mod-v1.08A.tar.gz
