Version 0.3 of my Macintosh HFS filesystem module is now in Incoming
on sunsite.
This module allows kernel versions 1.1.77 and later to read
Macintosh diskettes. Future versions will read CDROMs and harddisks
and eventually allow writing to Macintosh filesystems.
The module is now distributed as a package compiled separate from
the kernel, and requires no patches to the kernel. It is known to
work for kernel versions 1.1.77 - 1.1.86 with no changes.
The major improvement from the previous version is that one can now
access the resource fork of a file as well as the Finder metadata for
a file or directory. This is done using .resource and .finderinfo
directories in a manner compatible with the Columbia Appletalk
Package's aufs application.
Resource fork access in a format compatible with the Executor
application should appear in one of the next few releases.
